Current Date: August 28, 2009
Current Weather: Sunny, few clouds, temperature in high seventies (F).
Current Setting: Houses, then school (Athens High School).

Zuri clicked off the button on her alarm. She slowly sat up, shoving the blankets off her and sliding to the base of the bed. She stepped down the ladder and stretched out her arms before heading to the closet. She grabbed a nature t-shirt, a pair of jean shorts, and changed quickly. She dragged a brush through her long hair and splashed water over her face in the bathroom. After putting on socks and sneakers, she peeked in on her grey-and-white dutch rabbit, Gloria, giving her some more hay, she descended downstairs and into the kitchen. Her father and brother were awake already, the latter appeared quite sleepy. Zuri murmured a good morning in reply to her dad, and grabbed a poptart from the pantry to nibble on. She gave her young dog, Pepper, her breakfast, and checked on the cats’ food as well. Once done, she made sure her backpack was ready to go. She looked at her watch—6:53. Nearly time to go. She scratched Pepper for a few moments, then her dad came past with the car keys, and she grabbed her pack and followed him outside. It was a beautiful day, warm and sunny. Zuri hopped in the car—a dark green Subaru—and they headed for the school.
She slipped out of the car, waving a goodbye to her father, and headed up the sidewalk. She turned into the main entrance and headed for her locker. The clock said 7:32. Zuri halted in front of her locker, 124, opened it, and began to organize her items.

Elizabeth heard the lilting tune of her phone alarm, reaching under her pillow to silence it. It was 5:40 in the morning—good thing she didn’t mind mornings. She pushed the blankets off her—but was careful not to cover the little sleeping tabby kitten she knew would be curled on the sheets. She smiled as a yawn split his maw, baring tiny white teeth and a curling pink tongue. He blinked wide green eyes at her, then mewled lightly, rising to stretch.“Silly little mew,” she cooed to her Kovu, stroking his arching back before getting off the bed. She left her room, walking downstairs with a little tabby shadow. He ran ahead of her as she neared the bathroom, and when she’d arrived he had already jumped atop the counter where his food bowl was kept. Elizabeth fed him, then showered quickly. She brushed out her long hair, plaiting it—still wet-- with a thick black hairtie, and then pulled on her shoes and went into the living room. A wiry-furred, warm, snuffling puppy rammed into her legs, greeting her ecstatically. “Yes, yes, good morning little Ley!”  she laughed, then looked up to see her pretty brown aussie with lighter brown accents come trotting over to be petted. “Time to feed the dogs?” she asked them, and they pranced ahead of her to their bowls, which she filled with their breakfast and the two happily ate. She stroked Brownie lovingly, hugging her tight even as the soft dog ate. As soon as she had finished, however, the aussie flopped down and licked Elizabeth’s face and hands, then rolled over to be petted more. “Brown One, I really have to eat now, alright? I’ll pet you later,” she told her dog, giving her a few good-natured pats before going to the pantry for a fruit bar. A few minutes later, her brother stumbled tiredly into the kitchen, mumbling a good morning as he stepped into the bathroom. Elizabeth responded in kind, and then went outside to check on her goat, Song. She hummed a tune as the young girl replaced her pretty goat’s water and supplied her with breakfast, and was just about to leave when the goat woke and stepped over to her. Elizabeth greeted her warmly, then lead her over to her food, promising she’d visit after school. When she got back inside, she found her father waiting to take her to school. They stepped outside, him saying something about how beautiful the weather was, to which Elizabeth muttered an agreement, and went on their way.

At 7:28, Elizabeth arrived at her locker—number 119—and swiftly opened the combination lock to retrieve her books for her morning classes. She noticed her best friend, Zuri, at her locker nearby—number 124—and walked over after shutting her locker absentmindedly. “So, we still on for tonight? Rendezvous at the zoo?” Elizabeth questioned with a smirk.

Winter grumbled as her alarm rang for the fourth time. 5:48 it read, “Shut up life ruiner.” She mumbled and turned it off and slipped out of her waterbed. She stumbled into the bathroom, discombobulated, and turned on the shower. She slipped off her clothes and stepped in, feeling the warm water soak her.  About fifteen minutes later, she was fully dried and clothed in semi-short jean shorts and a tribal-looking top. She ran downstairs, being closely followed by her dog, Trex, and she skipped into the kitchen. “Hey Dayy hey!” she cooed to Daisy, who had greeted her at the bottom of the stairway. She grabbed the bag of bread and popped one piece into the toaster, opening the fridge and pulling out the butter and jam. Her toast dinged and she gobbled it down, as the time said 6:47, 13 minutes till time to go. Seeing as she was the only one up, she went upstairs to Tyler’s room and jumped on his bed to wake him up (he had to drive her to school because her parents were lazy…a.k.a. they had work) “Wake up, we have 10 minutes until I gotta go, you need to take me since Sam’s off at college!” She reminded him.
Once she got to school, a couple minutes late since her brother woke up late and still had to get ready for himself to go to school, she ran to her locker—number 8—and saw Eliza and Zuri irritatedly waiting for her. “Sorry I’m late…again; my brother woke up late and took too long to get ready.” She apologized, lowering her eyes submissively.

Zuri tilted her head and smiled at her best friend. “Indeed!” she agreed, placing the last textbook in her backpack. She stood up, swinging it over a shoulder and slamming the locker shut. She faced her friend, then saw a familiar face flash by in the main hallway. Their other friend, Aryana, rushed up to them and mumbled out an apology. Zuri just shrugged. “You’re not that late.” She nodded towards the clock. 7:34. The freshman turned towards Elizabeth and motioned towards the classrooms.

Elizabeth mumbled her agreement with Zuri, flashing a small smile at Winter. She caught Zuri’s gesture, realizing it would probably be about time to head to first period. As luck would have it, all three girls had Honours Algebra with the kind curly-haired Mrs. Shafer. They headed towards the back of the math hallway, talking of mundane things—not like sneaking into the zoo in the middle of the night, oh no. Zuri, Winter, and Elizabeth split up to go to their chairs, waving goodbyes. Elizabeth threw her backpack onto the ground against her seat, shoving it under her chair with her feet as she sat down. Unfortunately, none of the three sat near each other—the desks were in columns facing the dry-erase board, the students still in alphabetical order by last name that the teacher had assigned them to make recognizing names easier. Elizabeth sighed as she retrieved her math notebook, a calculator, pencil, and eraser from her backpack—math was her least favourite, and therefore worst, subject. She quite detested it.

Winter followed her friends—to math class, ugh. They reached the class and there weren’t many people here yet, evidently she wasn’t late. That’s good…I guess. Winter sat down in her desk, she had never liked math, well scratch that, she didn’t even like school in general. Although, in her perspective, who did? She wasn’t that great with school in general because she had better things to do. At least her teacher didn’t have a bad reputation with the students, most teachers didn’t respect her, probably because they were all nerds and that’s why they got that stupid job. Enough ranting, she reached down and pulled out her math notebook, a pencil and eraser and a calculator from her backpack. Hopefully this class won’t last long…

Zuri entered the classroom behind her friends and weaved over to her desk in silence. A dull chatter filled the room from the few other kids already seated. She glanced at Eliza and Aryana as they found their seats, and then dropped down in hers, sliding her pack down next to her. She didn't mind math very much, at least right now because it was mostly easy stuff at the beginning of the year. She pulled out her spiral notebook and placed it on her desk, then her scientific calculator next to it. Zuri unzipped the outer pocket in her olive green backpack and drew out her large white eraser and a green mechanical pencil. She dropped them next to the notebook, then opened it and examined a drawing she had been working on—a sketch of a Siberian tiger from the zoo. She flipped the page and picked up her pencil to begin drawing a domestic cat, waiting for the class to begin.
--time skip—
After last period—band—Zuri headed towards her locker, feeling a mixture of weariness and excitement. She clicked it open and unloaded the stuff she didn't need. All she had was math homework, gratefully. She stood up, zipping her backpack, and glanced up at the time. 2:38, her dad would be waiting.

[[left it like that because I wasn’t sure if anyone else was in band or not? So she doesn’t go looking for her friends to say goodbye to if they came from band with her.]]

Elizabeth packed up her trumpet, haphazardly throwing the mouthpiece in its holder. She closed the case, hauling it over to her shared cubby and shoving it in next to Zuri’s. She grabbed her backpack and hurried after her friend.

Arriving at her locker, Elizabeth unpacked all of her books but her math text, the only subject she had homework in. Slamming the locker door, twisting the lock randomly, and then facing towards locker 124, the slim girl walked over to her friends—Winter had just joined Zuri at her locker as well. Elizabeth leaned against a nearby locker, “I’m assuming we’re still meeting around 11:30, right? I’ll probably have to sneak past my dad, but it shouldn’t be too hard. You know how strange he is,” Elizabeth  joked, smiling.

Winter rushed over to her locker to put her stuff back and get her math homework. Thank god that’s all I have. She thought as she saw Eliza and Zuri talking at their lockers. She strolled over to meet Elizabeth and Zuri. She heard Eliza talking about their meet tonight. “Hey guys, 11:30 sounds good to me.” Winter joined in their conversation.

three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet] Empty Re: three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet]

Post  Zoketi Sun Nov 10, 2013 5:00 pm

The young light-brown-headed girl looked back to eye-level as she heard the approach of Elizabeth, and a moment later Aryana. Shouldering her pack, she let a slight smile appear over her face as she listened. “Of course.” She added in agreement, feeling a tingle of excitement run down her spine. She was in a very good mood considering it was a school day. Well, then again it was a Friday. And they were going to the zoo in the middle of the night—unusual as it was. Zuri was ecstatic to see the animals that she could now become.

She shut her locker and twiddled with the lock, looking back to her friends. “See you guys tonight!” she chirped, giving each a quick squeeze around the shoulders. Then she slipped through the throng of students and down the hallway. She turned left and exited through the band hallway, blinking in the sudden change of light. Ignoring the crowds of chattering people, she made her way down to the street, crossed carefully—weaving through the parked school buses—and jogging down the grassy hill to the parking lot, all the while searching the cars for the dark green mustang. She hopped onto the parking lot and walked calmly towards the car.

“How was school?” came the usual greeting from her dad. She gave a noncommittal grunt as she got in the back—her parents were still a bit unwilling to let her in the front seat due to her petite size. Zuri closed the door and shoved her backpack into the other seat as her dad started the engine. The trip home was uneventful.

Zuri sprang out of the car and slammed the door behind her. She trotted into the garage and in the house, full of eager happiness that was matched by the swishing tail of her dog Pepper. She bent to let the sweet young dog greet her and in a moment her face was satisfyingly licked. Her dad came in behind her. “You’re in a good mood.” She heard him comment. Zuri glanced back. “It’s Friday!” she explained, as if that was the whole reason. Without waiting for a reply she dashed up the stairs to her room, Pepper right behind. Zuri gave her a sad face and a last stroke and closed the door—she wasn’t allowed in because of the rabbit. The short girl threw her backpack underneath her loft as she walked more calmly into the room. She clicked her tongue at her rabbit, who scrabbled at the sides of her cage. Zuri knelt next to the cage and let Gloria sniff her fingers. “Hey little Glor,” she cooed, sitting back. “I’ll let you out later.” Zuri stood back up and looked towards her desk, where her laptop lay next to a pile of drawings and other random papers. One of the cats, Silver, was curled up on top of the computer, his long silver tabby fur spread out and his paws tucked in. She watched him for a moment, but he was either sleeping too deeply or was pretending not to notice. She’d get on the laptop later.

Zuri flopped down next to Gloria’s cage and unclipped the clasp. Her bunny tested the air—flicking eyes to Silver—then hopped out. Both cats were good with the rabbit, but Pepper had to be kept out for she had lived her first five months off road kill as a stray—so the door was closed. Zuri closed her eyes, wondering if she should nap to be ready for the nighttime expedition. Gloria was nosing around her toes. Zuri exhaled and watched the window, at the trees swaying outside.

Elizabeth smiled as Zuri embraced her then went her way to get home. Elizabeth herself gave a goodbye to Winter before heading out of the school, weaving quietly between people and exiting out a side door near the band room. She allowed the slight breeze to tug a smile to her lips, trotting down the sidewalk, across the crosswalk, and down into the parking lot. She turned left, where she knew her brother would be waiting in his red Volkswagen, a car that had been a gift from their grandmother. It even still had the swim bracelets--attached to the inside door handle of the back seat--from the YMCA that Elizabeth and her cousin had visited to get in to the pool area. Needless to say, she loved the vehicle because of all the memories it held. She deeply loved her grandmother and the other family on her mother’s side. Today’s a good day, she realized simply, smiling as she opened the back door to throw in her backpack and then closed the door, reaching to open the passenger side. However, her brother revved the car and moved forward suddenly (safely, no one was coming of course) as she reached for the handle and her hand closed on air as she jumped after it, her brother smirking from the driver’s seat. She laughed, yelling at him to stop—she should’ve been expecting it really. He did it so often. Once she finally got seated, they started on the way home, talking of mundane pleasant things.

Elizabeth went straight to her room upon arriving home, closely followed by a three wagging tails and a swinging chocolate-brown-and-tan tail-stump. She opened her door, letting Brownie, Jack, River, and Leyo swarm in after her. Throwing her backpack in a corner, she plopped down to hug and pet them, getting swarmed by happy paws and licking tongues and whining greetings. Once the pups had calmed, Elizabeth took out her math book and notebook, a pencil and a calculator and started on her homework.

Letting a relieved sigh go, Elizabeth put her book away fifteen minutes later—thank the gods for study halls, which was where she’d completed most of her homework today. She happily zipped her backpack as she raced down the stairs, ready to go out and feed Song and Boone. Just as she jumped the last three steps, her brother called out, “Hey ‘Liza, c’mere for a sec’!” She called an affirmative and quickly changed direction, trotting into the living room where he was playing a video game. After watching him play for a moment, laughing at what he’d wanted to show her, she headed outside to Boone’s hutch. She unlocked his cage—the hutch itself was built for two rabbits, so he had lots of room. Elizabeth unhooked the water bottle attached to the door of his cage as it swung out, and she reached in to grab his food dish. Bringing them inside, she refilled his water and gave him food, adding some apple peels that someone had left on the counter for him after their snack. The petite girl opened his rabbit run, walking over to Boone’s hutch and replacing the water and food. The little rabbit hopped delightedly over to the apple peels, chewing them quickly. Elizabeth smiled, stroking his soft fur, and then she reached on the roof of the hutch to grab his ramp, attaching it to the now-opened raised door of his hutch and making sure the other end was firmly on the ground. She twisted the metal tie of the run, making sure it was closed, and sat inside, waiting until he ate. After he came hopping down, she played with him a while before going to see Song.

The goat was waiting for her expectantly at the fence, and bawled when she was in view. She smiled, “Yes, my beautiful Song, I’m home.” Elizabeth climbed over the fence, and was immediately greeted by a little head butting affectionately against her side. She stroked the goat, then walked over to her little barn area, followed by the clopping of hooves. She cleaned out Song’s area, giving her fresh water and a little bit of food to snack on if she wanted. She hung with the pretty goat for a while, who followed her around like a puppy. Elizabeth climbed with her on her wooden play structure, calling back to Song when she maa-ed. At one point, Brownie came strolling towards the goat’s pen, searching for Elizabeth. She let her in—Brownie got along swimmingly with Song—and, having brought her drawing pad and pencil as well as her ocarina out earlier—proceeded to play music for her animals, drawing anything that crossed her mind, and imagining what amazing new morphs she and her best friends would have by tomorrow.

Winter hugged Zuri back and watched her head off. She gave a quick goodbye to Eliza and went on her way. She weaved through the people, murmuring a few quick ‘byes’ to some of her other friends. Then she scanned the parking lot for her brother’s shiny prized black Cadillac. Her family was a bit rich, she didn’t like to flaunt it though, wanted to be treated as a normal human being, though she wasn’t really. Of recently, of course. The small girl found the car she was looking for, hopped in, and smiled a greeting to her brother. They had always had a good relationship, ever since she was born. She had tried to convince her friends to let her tell Tyler about their powers but they wouldn’t let her. Winter felt really bad; she’d never lied to him. He backed out of the parking spot and they talked until they got home.
Once they reached the house, she jumped out without a word to greet her lovely darlings. Trex was whacking his tail against everything and Daisy was wagging her whole body. Winter smiled at her dogs and bent down to pet them both. She saw Jupiter peeking out from the staircase and trotted over to him. She stroked his spine and he purred, arching his back in delight. “I’ll pet you more later, I have to get some food now.” She told him and went into the kitchen to make a ham sandwich. Once it was made, she brought it upstairs to her room to eat and dawdle on her computer. About a half an hour later, she decided to check on her 2 beautiful horses. They were grazing and came to greet her when she ducked under the fence. “Hello, my beauties.” She had always found peace with horses, they were so graceful and how could you not adore them? She stayed down for a while and then headed back to the house. Once she got in, she flopped down on her bed to nap, only dreaming about what the three girls would do tonight.

three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet] Empty Re: three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet]

Post  Zoketi Sun Nov 10, 2013 7:16 pm

Zuri glanced over at her rabbit, who was snuffling about under her desk. Silver was still pretending to be asleep, so Zuri sat up and scooted towards her backpack. She drew out the algebra textbook and notebook, and grabbed a pencil from her desk. Opening her book, she stretched out on the carpet and began to finish her homework—she’d started it in the short free times she’d had at the end of each period. Less than ten minutes later she was replacing the supplies back in her bag and flexing out her arms as she sat up. Gloria hopped towards her and nosed her leg, making Zuri smile and reach to stroke her soft grey-and-white fur. After a few moments of silence with her bunny, she stood up and stepped towards the wire-frame cage. She grabbed the scoop and brush to sweep the cage, then took the water bowl and went to the bathroom to dump and refill it. She placed the clean dish full of fresh water in the cage when she returned. Then she grabbed a handful of hay from the bag on top of the cage and stuffed it down on the cage floor where Gloria often sat. Zuri slid away from the entrance to let her rabbit check over the fresh supplies. Once Gloria had sprang inside Zuri closed the cage and latched it.

Silver had “awoken” and was stretching out his legs on the desk. Zuri stood up to greet him, letting him rub his face over her hand. He brushed against her arm and purred loudly. She gave him a gentle nudge and he twitched his tail before hopping off the desk a moment later, giving her the “this-was-all-my-idea” look. Zuri peeked open the door to let him out, and she exited as well to give her dog some attention. Pepper had been obediently waiting and now jumped up to sniff her human. Zuri rubbed the canine’s soft ears as Pepper wagged her tail frantically and groaned with pleasure. “Tha’sa good girl.” She murmured, gently wrapping her arms around the young dog. She let Pepper pull away in time and stood up. She descended down the stairs with a thundering of paws after her, and entered the hallway. She headed towards the back door, grabbed Pepper’s purple leash, and headed outside once she’d attached the leash to her dog’s collar.

She skipped down the back path towards the barn. Standing in the big field were three horses—well, two of them were ponies. Zuri called out a happy greeting and received a few nickers in reply. Her own mare, Dancing Firefly, trotted towards the fence, brown-and-white fur rippling in the sunlight. Keeping a grip on Pepper’s leash, Zuri moved to reach and stroke Firefly’s soft nose. “Heya, Fly.” She smiled at her Connemara pony. The other two horses, a dappled grey gelding named Stormbreaker—also a Connemara, and the sleek very dark bay mare Peridot who was a Standardbred, moved over as well. Zuri patted each of their faces—being careful of the electric wire running along the top of the fence—and then headed towards the barn. She peeked through the doors and was greeted by a shrill whinny of the stallion, Winter’s Wind—a sleek liver chestnut Connemara. He was kept separate because he was still intact, unlike Stormbreaker. There was one other horse as well, not owned by Zuri’s family, but was boarded (they weren’t an actual boarding facility, but the horse was owned by a friend of Zuri’s mother so they let her stay here for a bit until they got everything straightened out). She was a pretty palomino mare, who, to Zuri’s excitement, was pregnant. Zuri grinned at the stallion and pushed the doors further to allow her and Pepper inside. The clattering of something told her that her mom was indeed inside—probably in the tack room. Zuri strolled down the main passage of the barn and turned right to peer in the tack room. She found her mother there, sitting and cleaning a bridle. Zuri could tell from the strong scent of saddle soap and leather. “Hello, Mother.” She greeted, letting Pepper move happily to greet the other human. “Happy Friday, Zuri.” Zuri’s mother replied, glancing up with a smile. “Sorry little Pep, my hands are all wet and sticky.” She added to the canine, who was looking disappointed that she was not receiving any petting. Zuri smiled, and gently tugged her dog back out. “See you later, Mother.” She called as she left the barn. She continued on around to the woods, letting Pepper explore a little, before heading back up to the house. She entered and unclipped Pepper, then checked the time—4:12. It was passing slowly. She sighed, then headed back up to her room—nearly tripping over Juniper and Silver as they played—and sat down on her desk chair. She traced a finger over her laptop, and let her head rest on it, wishing the night would come soon. Zuri took out a piece of paper and began to doodle some animals.

--time skip--

 She glanced at the clock for the three thousandth time. 10:33. Zuri knew that she was a relatively good distance from the zoo, so setting off momentarily would be right. The fastest way would be to morph one of the horses, but she was still too unused to it that she was afraid the morph would take control and she would be seen—that would be a whole mess if they tried to take her back to her house and found an identical horse. She frowned. It might be best to go with either Silver or Juniper’s morphs. Cats were fun and pretty easy to manage. If only she had a bird. But maybe that’d be one she’d get tonight. Zuri knew they had owls—her favorite birds—and that would make travel a lot easier. Though she’d like to get a nighttime and a daytime one if possible. Oooh, or a bat. Her mind whirled with all the ideas.

Zuri slithered off her loft bed and changed lightning-fast into a leotard and tight leggings. It wasn’t the most comfortable, but it was morph-able—as the three girls had figured out, only skintight clothing worked. She glanced at Gloria’s cage, spotting the rabbit huddled in the litterbox and munching on some hay. Then she turned and opened the door to her room, stepped silently outside, and closed it. She crept downstairs, frantically shushing Pepper, who had greeted her happily. There was no noise from her parents’ room. She passed Juniper on the stairs, but didn’t see Silver—probably hiding in the cat tree. Zuri grabbed a quick drink of water, then went outside. To her relief, Pepper, didn’t make much more noise than a few soft whimpers. Zuri rushed away from the house, along the gravel driveway, keeping to the trees on the side. Once she felt safely away from the house, she moved towards a clump of bushes to begin the morph.

It was still a weird experience—she didn’t think that would ever change. She focused on Silver’s image, and it began. First she shrunk down, sinking fast. Her front arms stretched out and the fingers changed to paws. Fur sprouted over her body, and her ears raced to the top of her head as her eyes changed color and shape—making night vision much better. Her nose stretched a little and shrunk down, and as she balanced on four paws her tail shot out of the end of her spine. Long fur fell into place as she stumbled forwards, suppressing the cat’s instincts. She took a step forwards, finishing the adjustments, then drew in the scents. She loved having such a good sense of smell—a dog’s was even better. With no more delays, Zuri shot off down the gravel driveway like a silver bullet. She now realized morphing Juniper might have been smarter—for Silver’s coat was thick and long while Juniper’s was not—but too late now.

She reached the zoo at long last—and had no idea of the time. Cautiously, she crept to the entrance and hid under a bush, hoping that she was either early or that her friends would meander along to find her soon. She kept hidden for now.

three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet] Empty Re: three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet]

Post  WalkingWithBarefeet Sun Nov 10, 2013 10:48 pm

{{following your time skip, Mir. Ugh....i hate it when i accidentally x-out of a huge post....sorry guys, but this isn't gonna be as long as it was gonna be before i made a dumb-dumb ^^; }}

Eliza closed her 3DS and hooked it into the charger by her bed, glancing at her phone for the time--10:17. Part of her mind told her: 'Don't go yet, you'll be way too early! Wait a while yet!' but she was far too excited to wait any longer. She opened her box of dance clothing, picking out her favourite leotard and pair of tights. She changed quickly, then stepped out into the hall and headed downstairs, giving Kovu a pat from where he rested on his cat tree on the way down. She peered into the living room, from where she heard the conversation of her parents punctuated by occasional laughter. Jack and Leyo were seated on the couch on either side of her parents, while Brownie and River were relaxing on the floor nearby. Eliza gave all the pups and her parents hugs, announcing that she was off to bed soon. At that, Brownie promptly rose and walked over to stand beside her, blinking expectantly. She rubbed Brownie's head affectionately--Brownie always slept with Eliza in her room, and sometimes the little brown Aussie would let the other dogs join. Apparently tonight River was getting that privilege, as the tiny dachshund hopped up and joined them, taking up the rear as Eliza paraded upstairs with her dogs.

Kovu mrrow-ed at them as they passed, and Eliza gave him a few more rubs before knocking on her brother's door, opening it gently. He was on his computer gaming, and she walked over to hug him, giving him a "Sleep well," before heading off to her room again. Brownie sat and looked up at her expectantly, and after a glance at the bigger dog, River followed suit. Eliza knelt and spoke with a mischievous glint in her eye, "Now, you two gotta guard my secret, alright? No one should come in, but if they do come in, you pretend to be me. You know the drill, One," Eliza winked at them, and Brownie went to her bed, jumping up and nosing her way under the covers, manoeuvring so that she poked her head out and rested it on Eliza's pillow. In the dark, Brownie could pass well enough for the curled shape of a sleeping Eliza. River gave a little woof and joined Brownie, wriggling under the covers and curling up near Brownie's back paws, making the shape look longer and a bit more humanoid. Eliza smiled and found River under the covers, ruffling her fur. She patted out an air tunnel with the blankets, ensuring that River would get enough air. Eliza gave both dogs a quick kiss on the head before opening her window and slipping out into the night, closing it after her but leaving just enough space so she could slip her fingers underneath and open it from the outside upon her return. Eliza walked along the roof until she reached the branch of the tree nearby that she knew could support her weight. She walked her fingers as close to the base of the limb as she could, then swung her feet off of the roof. She shimmied down the limb hand-over-hand, then clung to the trunk with her bare feet and climbed swiftly down.

Eliza crouched low, then ran across the grass to her "Morphing Bush". It was a bush of hundred of stalks of tall, arching grasses, each stem reaching over seven feet in length. There was an open space in the middle of the bush where no shoots grew, but the opening could not be noticed from the outside--which made it an ideal location to morph close to her home. Eliza glanced around before she slipped in through her secret entrance, and there began her morph. She chose Boone's form, and thus the first thing that began to change was her height. She shrunk down, her spine shortening as the bones in her arms and legs changed, and she slumped down onto her little limbs. A little fluffy black tail sprouted from the base of her spine and long black ears formed as her eyes slid down to the sides of her thinning skull. The white stripe of fur along her face and nose grew as the black fur on the rest of her body fluffed out and rested against soft, warm bunny skin. In a few more seconds, her morph was completed. Now Boone's doppleganger, Elizabeth hopped out of the enormous bush, ears and nose twitching about for any possible danger as she easily suppressed the bunny instincts in her mind. She couldn't help a wave of slight confidence at that--she was much better at controlling the animal's natural instincts now. True, bunnies were probably the easiest in her limited experience so far, but especially when they were frightened it was hard to fight that flight urge. Eliza assured herself that she was alone, then raced across the dark grass, like the black shadow of a soundless owl in the night.

Eliza reached the zoo, unsure of the time, and she decided to hop around the perimeter to see if she could find Zuri or Winter. She found no one, but by the time she reached the entrance where she'd first been, she recognized a scent in a nearby bush.
<Zuri? That you?> Eliza thought-spoke towards what she now saw as the silver gleam of a cat's pelt, a cat who seemed to look remarkably like Zuri's Silver.

Winter opened her eyes and yawned, hoping she didn't sleep too late; she wouldn't want to be late for the third time in the past two days. The clock read 10:34, she didn't have much time to get to the zoo. She jumped up and walked quietly downstairs to tell her parents she was going to bed. Then proceeded to change into her morphing outfit; black leggings and a VS pajama tank top. 10:41. She tip-toed out the back door, being careful to close it quietly and ran over to a small bush and started to morph into Marmalade, one of her feline morphs. She always thought this was weird, how she was becoming an animal...that already existed. Oh well, it was amazing too. She rapidly started shrinking down, fur started to sprout from her forehead to her growing tail. Her eyes changed shape and she could feel everything inside her moving around..gross right? Her fingers shrank into stubs and her nails formed into little claws. As the morph was complete, she sped off in the direction of the zoo, loving the wind in her fur and the smells in her nose. The little orange cat reached the zoo site soon enough. <Eliza?> <Zuri?> Winter called out for her friends.

[Ewww. I have problems. Sorry mine's a paragraph and yours are both like 90 pages. :|]

There was a rabbit on the path. The cat's instincts made her tense up and fix her gaze on the other creature, but she pushed them down. That was no wild bunny; that was Boone, Eliza's pet. Which meant that her friend had arrived. A second later, she received the thought-speak message, querying of her presence. <Yep. Hey, Eliza.> She responded, cautiously slipping out from under the bush and stepping delicately onto the concrete path. She lifted her tail and sniffed the air. Another faint thought-speak entered her mind, but not from Eliza. Winter had arrived. Zuri made out the shape of an orange-colored cat loping down the sidewalk towards the entrance. <Hiya Winter!> Zuri greeted her other friend, making a soft mewling noise. <You guys ready?> she asked both of them, kneading paws on the concrete.

Eliza hopped forward a bit and greeted Winter happily. Her excitement was beginning to bubble up in full force. She noticed their morphs, twitching her nose in good humour. <One sec,> she uttered, <I'm gonna switch morphs real quick. I feel out of place.> she flicked her ears with a twinge of amusement. She began the morph, speaking as her body changed from rabbit to human. <Plus, this way, if anyone sees us...> she had finished morphing back into her human form, and now focused on Kovu's image, shrinking down again, "it'll be a bit more explainable..." <than seeing two cats and a bunny being best friends, anyways.> Eliza finished, now in the form of her little adorable grey tabby tom-kit, green eyes large and alight with joy. <Alright, now I'm good. Sorry, guys.> she rasped her cat tongue over her whiskers, shinking her claws in and out a few times in anticipation.

{{Ugh I really wanna add more pets for Eliza/her family because I feel bad like...leaving some out :/ But I don't want to get a ridiculous amount of pets, you know? :/ Sorry I'm being indecisive xP like usuallllll. IGNORE ME!! ^^;    }}

The small orange cat slowed her pace when she saw another, a little grey cat and a rabbit. She greeted them both excitedly. <Hey guys! I guess I'm finally on time..haha...anyways, shall we go now?> Her tail twitched in anticipation as Eliza shifted first back to her human form, and then to Kovu, her little kitten form.

Zuri flicked her thick silvery tail in anticipation, loving how free she felt as a feline. <Great! Let's go.> she announced, turning towards the entrance. She trotted forwards, passing the first few buildings--the ticket places--and gently slipping through the fencing beside the entrances. She tilted her head around to take in the view, one that she had seen many times but only from the perspective of a human and when the zoo was open and lit, of course.. As a cat, her vision was a little more limited, but it did have excellent night abilities. She glanced around for her friends, now both in cat morphs, one a sleek orange and one a tiny grey. <Where to first? Lions, tigers, bears?> She purred with amusement.

Eliza gently followed her friends, but Kovu's tiny body made it difficult to step over the bottom rung of the fence so she had to first raise her front paws, stepping as far forward as she could, then push off with her back paws, almost falling over herself but scrambling forward unsteadily to regain her balance and hurry after the the other cats. 'Perhaps I should've used Silver or Marmalade...' she thought, slightly amused but resigned. She was always proud to be in the forms of her own animals, and she felt it really helped her to communicate with them on a more personal level. Elizabeth trotted after Zuri and Winter on her little legs, tail swishing. Excitement surged through her at Zuri's words, <Oooh, I don't know! There's so many good choices!! But...maybe we ought to start out with some animal a little more...easy to get along with. Like maybe the red pandas? Or monkeys? We could always go for some snakes or lizards too, we haven't got reptile morphs yet. Or maybe some otters? Water morphs would be fun!> Eliza swished her striped tail in anticipation, kneading the wood-chip ground where she stood under one of the trees around the main opening plaza.

{{I dunno Maa...maybe add more like, personal things? Thoughts? Setting maybe...Your post was a fine length for us being in the middle of dialogue, anyways <3 }}

Winter trotted along after Zuri. She looked back to see little Eliza stumble over the bottom fence. She let out a purr of amusement. It was as if Eliza wasn't there, just Kovu. <I like the water morph ide-> Her voice trailed off as her nostrils caught scent of a mouse. She immediately dropped her body into a crouch and, ignoring whether she was being spoken to, pounced. Her claws outstretched and sunk into the little warm body and she killed it with a quick nip to the neck. <Oh...sorry> Winter apologized quickly when she saw her friends looking at her.

{{Sure whatever you want to add, it's up to you c; }}

The silver-tabby-cat-with-a-girl's-mind swished her tail in excited anticipation. Oh, there were so many animals! They couldn't possibly do them all tonight of course, so Zuri suspected this trip was the first of many to come. <Yes yes yes! Otters sound splendid. Then we could head towards the primates!> she suggested eagerly. She watched Winter spring and catch the mouse. <Are you gonna eat that?> she asked, with a hint of amusement. <Otherwise you've just wasted that poor thing's life.> she had practiced stalking and hunting things as a cat before a few times, but she hadn't gotten the courage to actually kill one (she had caught and freed them though)--because it would be pointless since she wouldn't eat it. Well, she could try to, but it just didn't sound appetizing from a human's point of view, especially a vegetarian like she was. Zuri padded across the path and peered across the dark zoo, eager to get going.

three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet] Empty Re: three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet]

Post  WalkingWithBarefeet Thu Nov 28, 2013 8:53 pm

Eliza cringed a bit as Winter killed the mouse. She'd never been good at witnessing the death of animals, and she'd never killed any on her own, even as a predator morph like a cat or even her dogs. Once, when her father had trapped a raccoon because it had been getting into their crops, she'd cried for hours out in the forest because she thought he was gonna kill it. Eventually, her mom had found her and Eliza was told that he'd let it go away from the house, and he was never going to hurt it. She was glad that Winter hadn't eaten it at least. Eliza forced an amused snort, turning away to try and help the churning in her stomach. <Alright, that's fine with me! Let's go!> Eliza stumbled ahead on her little kitten legs, racing for the otter area. She knew where it was from having been to the zoo numerous times in her life, especially when she was younger. They reached the exhibit in good time, and slipped in by climbing on bins and using their cat claws to pick locks, or climbing into cabinets to get keys, using cat mouths and paws to stuff the keys into locks. Eventually, they got in, and found the otters snoozing pleasantly in the cool water. <Ready to do this?> she asked, Kovu's large green eyes sparkling with Eliza's excitement.

<Oh my gosh...> Winter gasped, staring at the blood on her claws. <I swear I didn't mean to, that was marmalade..I didn-...I don't wanna eat it> She backed away from it and shook her disbelief out of her head. The little cat darted away towards the otter exhibit, following her buds. Once they got there she looked at Eliza and Zuri, she could tell Eliza was excited as she was herself. <I sure am ready!> She exclaimed, pawing the air.

three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet] Empty Re: three saviors for the human race? [WWB & Velvet]

Zuri wrinkled her cat nose. <It's okay.> she sent to Winter, knowing that the instincts were hard to adjust to. She hadn't minded seeing the dead mouse, although quite an animal aficionado, she was used to seeing dead creatures around the woods of her home. Deer carcasses, dead rodents, etc. She often collected the bones. Zuri went skittering along after her friends, her tail waving high in excitement. She weaved expertly through the familiar setting, one that she and both her friends had frequented many times throughout their lives. After a bit of difficultly entering the exhibit, she pondered whether they could have changed to human to get in, or something smaller or larger depending on the situation. When she entered, stepping out onto the cool stone of the exhibit's ground, all thoughts wiped from her mind except those of her task at hand. <Oh, yes.> she answered back, mind-voice almost breathless, if that was possible. The water source was shallow on one side, which was where the current five otters were asleep, some laying in the liquid, others curled on the bushes of the bank. Zuri guessed they might wake soon, as their good noses would detect the unfamiliar scents of domestic feline in their home. <We got to get to human to do this. Let's be quick.> Although she didn't think they would be dangerous, as they were used to humans moving about and such in the cage, she knew they would be wary of the unfamiliar ones. She glanced to her friends, and around the exhibit out of wary instinct, and began to demorph.
