Eliza sniffled, kneading the ground with Kovu's tiny paws in anticipation. <Alright, I'm gonna demorph...> she broadcast, starting the process. It wasn't long before she was back in her human form, with her two friends close behind her. Eliza cast her gaze about to find the otter she would want, noting that there were two European and three North American otters in this exhibit. Eliza decided to go for a European, and found the female snoozing on the bank of their water habitat. She came over quietly, admiring the female's deep brown fur melding with her pretty tan underbelly. She was on the smaller side of the size scale for Europeans, as she looked to have just entered young adulthood, but she had a long tail that led Eliza to believe she would grow bigger, and the tail obviously serving her well in swimming, her speed making up for the size she somewhat currently lacked. Eliza smiled as she bent down to touch her smooth fur. The animal opened it's liquid, large brown eyes slowly, locking her gaze with Eliza's. Then, the DNA transferring began. They both seemed to go into some sort of trance, human and creature staring into one another, when it ended just as swiftly as it had started. With a final blink at her and a little call, the otter slid away into the safety of the water. Eliza smiled in triumph, now focusing on the image of the otter with her beautiful pelt and her dark amber eyes. Eliza began shrinking, becoming an exact twin of the otter. Once she'd finished morphing, she looked over to see how her friends were doing, to see who they'd picked.

{{are we gonna make a page under the animorph character thing with the different morphs each charrie has? Like what they look like?}}

{{ I'm sorry...I couldn't wait. Really wanted to post this. >_> And yes to that question, did that awhile ago when we talked about it xD }}

Her ears shrunk down and slid down her head as her fur receded and legs began to grow. Her tail vanished with a swoop and her vision flickered, becoming more tuned to color--not that it was visible in the nighttime darkness. She wobbled as she rose, paws turning to fingers. The last of the silvery fur disappeared into her pale skin as she stood up, feeling the swishing of internal processes as they adjusted to a human being. Zuri blinked, the moved forwards after Eliza towards the water, visible from the moonlight dappled on its surface. Unlike her friend, she moved towards one of the North American otters. The furthest one had lifted its head up. It was almost completely in the water, sleeking down its fur. She noticed that this one was a rather small-built male, with fur just a few shades darker than the rest--it wasn't just the water, she thought, for one of the other North American otters was half in and her pelt wasn't as deep in color. Zuri reached out a hand cautiously, and the otter reclined but allowed the contact. After all, they were used to feeders and keepers coming in and doing a bit of touching. From her mind she dredged up a few pieces of information. As a frequent visitor--along with her friends, she knew some of the quirks of the five otters. The one she was to acquire was the zoo's only male North American otter, and one of two males total. He was also the youngest and most energized, but was known to skirt handlers more so than the elder otters. Zuri remembered the zoo announcing they'd brought him in injured and just out of baby-hood. They'd named him Fleck, for the dashes of lighter fur on his muzzle and neck. The two other North American otters were sibling females, born in the zoo, named Quinn and Ophelia. Blinking, Zuri pressed her hand against the young male's sleek, damp fur. She felt his muscles relax, and she in turn felt calm as the DNA transfer took place. In a moment it was over, and she drew back. The young otter lowered its head and backed up. It let out a soft barking noise and abruptly turned to follow one of the other otters, the small Eurasian female, who had just took to the water as well. With a splash it was below the surface, and in the darkness it was impossible to see. Zuri crept away from the water's edge. She noticed Eliza seemed to be half-morphed. With that, she focused on her mind's picture of the young brown male, and let her body change. Down down down, loosing her balance. Her arms shrunk and twisted, while her hind legs did very much the same. Fur sprouted over her body, shortening her hair on her head. A tail shot out, fur growing down it as her nose and mouth moved forwards into a snout. Her ears became tiny and rose upwards. She felt her teeth become pointed and her fingernails grow to claws. When the process was done she was a sleek dark shape, standing upon the rocky shore. The animal's instincts surface and she let out a small huff. The water. Safety was the water. She scurried forwards, swerving around the other otters, and took to the pool. Instantly it was a relief. She dove in and out, examining the territory she belonged to. Then in a sudden flash she was able to pull herself above the animal instincts and regain control. Her head burst above the water, and her eyes strained to see over at the shore. Otters were near-sighted, she recalled. An adaptation for seeing underwater rather than on land.
