The Slytherin boy followed after his friend, lighting his wand with a murmur of "Lumos," as they stepped deeper into the dark woods. They searched for what felt like a long time but probably wasn't more than an hour or two, after having rushed towards any red leaf or trick of the light, before they seemed to reach an area where there was prominent insect and moth activity. They found a pupal case that had been broken recently but the newly transitioned moth, as well as a few larval state death's head insects in varying browns and greenish yellows. The two gently excavated and poked around in the dirt, searching for the small divet in the dirt that serves as the chamber that the larva burrow to pupate, and even a flash of yellow and black flew by, most likely a parent still hanging around where the eggs had been laid. This was obviously a popular egg-laying ground for the insects. One of their known host plants thrived here, it's stiff, dark matte green leaves holding a few tiny white flowers. It was a nice view in the otherwise dark and sprawling forest, where few flowers could grow without adequate light. Nofalo had helped Eevana do the research, since he knew that his reluctance over the animagus process was affecting her. He'd wanted to help however he could. The she-wolf snorfed around in the dirt too, nosing aside leaves and the soft soil that covered the floor of the forest. Just about to give up looking, the wolf trotted towards him from much further away. He looked up just in time for her to drop a slobbery, red, hard, something onto his hand. With a noise of disgust, Nofalo regretfully picked up the thing and headed over to where Eevana was looking a little ways away. "I think she found something..." he muttered, lip raised as he offered the slimey red thing to Eevana. It didn't look like the animal had punctured or disturbed the chrysalis in any way, as amazing as that seemed. He hoped it was what Eevana needed.

{let's pretend that their host plant can grow in these conditions and that they have a sort of 'breeding ground' since maybe the host plants are few and far between here lol lololol}
